Who can volunteer?
Just about anyone over 18. If you fancy having a chat to get a better idea of what we do and what you might be interested in helping out with, just contact us. Just keep on scrolling down to see all the volunteering options – there is surely one you’d love to help with!
Setting Up
For Early Birds as it starts at 8am
We meet at the unit in Cwmtillery and load gazebos on to the van. Drive to Abertillery and work in small teams to set the gazebos up.
Stewarding
Stewarding largely involves walking around the event locations with a Ffrindiau Tyleri Hi Viz jacket looking out for potential problems and answering questions from stallholders and visitors.
Running our Stall
We try and run our own stall at the events to promote Ffrindiau Tyleri. This could be having games for children to play, giving out puzzles or maybe Splat the Rat.
Packing Up
Many hands make light work! Gazebos have to be returned to the unit at Cwmtillery, decorations taken down, tables folded, the road closure signs removed etc.
Marketing
We really need a creative person to design some new posters and give us a social media presence.
Admin and Committee work
Putting on 4 events a year means there is always admin to be done! It includes applying to the Council for a Road Closure permit and an Event Licence, checking that our traders hold public liability insurance and that food sellers have a hygiene certificate.
